Pottery Surface Design Workshop

FRIDAY DECEMBER 5th

6:30PM-7:30PM

Authentic Ambiance Spa

202 Worcester St

N. Grafton MA

REGISTER AT: authenticambiance.com

Make bold contrasting surface patterns and designs on premade pottery. White clay pots will be painted black over your handcut personalized stencils!

Cut and apply sticky tape shapes to the surface of fired pots to create beautiful contrasting patterns or imagery. Simply stick on, paint over, and peel off for amazing black and white pottery!

Using tape and an xacto knife patterns, imagery, and text can be cut out then transferred to the clay pot like a stencil. Personalize your pot with a unique signature stencil with your name, initials, or small graphic.

Surfaces will be black + white (black underglaze + white exposed clay color). Tape is a simple color blocking tool, called resist.

Half the workshop is designing these sticky tape stencils on a cutting mat. The second half is painting, waxing and detail cleanup.

Up to two small vases per person are provided to decorate. All pottery is glazed clear off site by the instructor. Choose from a glossy or matte finish. Pick up at Authentic Ambiance Spa roughly one week later.
